Two-day tour Permet-Ogren- Permet

This great but also a bit demanding 2-day tour takes you all around the “Bredhi I Hotoves” national park, a wild mountainous area with large forests, rough 4×4 tracks, and mysterious hidden villages. Try to organize your OVERNIGHT STAY IN ADVANCE and from Permet, talk to the local tourist office or the local NGO CESVI. On the first day you ride out of Permet, onto a natural track, which slowly starts to climb into the mountains. Half way up you come to some green meadows/open fields, and to the right of those you find yourself above a spectacular canyon. Avoid when wet / foggy conditions, and always be careful! Soon after that you reach the entrance to the national park and the park rangers site, as you will see by the signs etc. Now you ride more or less on top of the area and soon reach Frasher, a village important in Albanian history for its famous “Frasheri brothers”. Besides a local museum the village has not much to
offer, so continue the 4×4 track to the village of Ogren, a possible place for the night.
Alternatively continue another 5km (technically a bit demanding) to the next village, Gostivisht, where you find more guesthouses. All of these villages are remote places from another time, complete with very hospitable inhabitants.

Highlights: Canyon on the climb, large forests on top, hospitality & tradition for the night.

Water / Food/ Accommodation: Take enough water & food with you, there’s not much too find until your night stay. For food actually nothing at all, for water you find a nice spring approx. 1 km after the park entrance on top of the area.
